Mao Zedong (1893-1976) was a founder of the Chinese Communist party and the leader of the Peoples Republic of China for nearly 30 years. Most people around the world remember Mao as a man who killed around 40 million Chinese through failed plans that caused famine and over working. But Chinese have a different opinion about this man, many citizens in China remember the 6,000 mile march or the fact that he revolutionized the Chinese government to help it become what it is today. Mao Zedong has led China to great advancements but those advancements were tainted by the death and destruction he brought upon his country in order to get there.
